MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641123436 A) filed by Psna College Of Engineering And Technology on October 15, 2026, for Waste To Waste: Intelligent Autonomous Briquetting System( Converting Suitable Waste To Electricity.

Inventors include S. Yamunadevi; Dr. R. Divya; Santhosh Karthik D; Sujayi M R; and Vishwa R.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An intelligent autonomous biomass briquetting system converts agricultural biomass and selected, segregated combustible waste streams into standardized, controlled- density solid fuel briquettes. The system comprises a feedstock preparation and characterization mechanism, an adaptive conditioning and blending mechanism, a controlled feeding and compression mechanism, an adjustable die-forming mechanism, and a cutting and cooling mechanism. Sensors continuously monitor feedstock moisture, material flow, mass, motor electrical load, compression pressure, die temperature, vibration and output characteristics. A control mechanism automatically adjusts feed rate, compression operation, conditioning intensity and die resistance while optimizing specific energy consumption. The system further provides anti-jam recovery, self-cleaning die operation, output quality verification with selective reject and reprocessing, predictive machine-health monitoring, and fire and dust safety. Recovered thermal energy may be used for feedstock conditioning. The closed-loop process senses, conditions, compresses, verifies and, when required, reprocesses feedstock, enabling consistent briquettes for thermal, boiler, steam, electricity-generation or future gasification applications.
