MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106148 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Wall And Ceiling Cleaning Robot.

Inventors include Mohammed Salmaan. F; Dr T Sathish; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Dust accumulation on walls and ceilings reduces indoor hygiene and affects air quality, yet these surfaces are rarely cleaned due to difficulty of access and safety concerns. Manual cleaning methods require ladders or scaffolding, increasing physical effort and risk, while conventional robotic cleaners mainly focus on floors. This invention presents a wall and ceiling cleaning robot designed exclusively-for dry-dust removal using-a rotating foam or brush mechanism. The robot is lightweight and capable of adhering to vertical and overhead surfaces through a suitable attachment method, enabling smooth movement without surface damage. A motor-driven rotating foam or soft brush gently loosens and sweeps away dust particles from painted, plastered, or smooth surfaces. The system avoids the use of water or chemicals, making it suitable for environments where moisturebased cleaning is undesirable, such as homes, offices, hospitals, libraries, and electronic facilities. The robot is operated through a remote control interface, allowing users to clean elevated surfaces from the ground level, reducing physical strain and improving safety. Low power consumption ensures energy-efficient operation, while compact construction allows easy handling and storage. Performance evaluation indicates consistent dust removal with minimal maintenance requirements. This wall and ceiling cleaning robot provides a practical and affordable solution for routine dust cleaning tasks. The invention demonstrates how simple mechanical automation can enhance cleanliness, safety, and convenience in everyday environments, while offering scope for future upgrades such as autonomous navigation or integrated dust collection systems.ic
