MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541007908 A) filed by Jain Deemed-To-Be University on January 30, 2025, for Walking Assistive Device.

Inventor includes Dr. Suhas Ballal.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A walking assistive device, comprises of a U-shaped member positioned around thigh portion, multiple belts 102 to affix the member with the thigh portion, a rectangular frame 103 in front of a calf portion of the disabled user, a harness 105 to fasten the frame 103 with the calf portion, a touch interactive display panel 106 to provide input regrading requirement of assistance in walking, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 107 to determine dimensions of the user’s thigh, a motorized roller 108 for wrapping the belt and harness 105, a pair of hydraulic rods 109 by means of a motorized pivot joint for positioning a curved block 110 for support to the user’s leg, a pressure sensor to monitor pressure applied by the belt and harness 105 and a tilt sensor to monitor tilt angle of the member.
