Abstract: A VTOL (VERTICAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING) DRONE FOR EFFICIENT AND ACCESSIBLE SURVEYING ABSTRACT An apparatus A VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drone is developed for efficient orthomosaic generation using photogrammetry. It features a lightweight, 3D-printed airframe with a trimotor configuration, two tilting front motors and one fixed rear motor for stable vertical takeoff, landing, and smooth gyroscopes, and a barometer, ensures stability and autonomous navigation, enabling efficient surveying. A mounted camera captures aerial images, which are processed using OpenDroneMap to generate high-quality orthomosaics. The drone operates on a lithium-polymer battery, with flight time optimized for an extended data collection. This cost-effective and portable surveying solution enhances accessible in industries such as construction, environmental monitoring and agriculture, offering an efficient alternative to traditional methods.
