Inventors include Dr. Himanshu Paliwal; and Dr. Bhupendra G. Prajapati.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Abstract: Voriconazole is known to have promising therapeutic agent for treatment of fungal infections, such as cryptococcal meningitis which is commercially available in both oral and intravenous administrations. The current discovery deals with the nanoemulsion of voriconazole meant for improving brain delivery of drug through intranasal administration. The dose of voriconazole was chosen based on the therapeutic requirement for treating brain fungal infections. The present invention involves addition of three key components for developing stable nanoemulsion formulation, including; i) Oil (used as carrier for lipophilic drug), ii) Primary Surfactant, with long alkyl chain length for creating stable droplets), and iii) Co-surfactant, with small chain length for supporting the primary surfactant). This invention proposes a novel, non-invasive, and effective approach for the treatment of brain related fungal infections
