MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531022463 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Guwahati on March 12, 2025, for Voix Lattice System As Bone Replacement Scaffolds.
Inventors include Chanda, Souptick; and Bhardwaj, Jaideep Singh.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a lattice system (100) for bone replacement applications including a scaffold structure (102) formed by a plurality of unit cells (106) arranged in a repeating pattern along three mutually perpendicular directions. A network of interconnected struts (108) maintains connectivity between the unit cells (106), forming a three-dimensional lattice (104). The scaffold structure (102) is selected from a Voronoi pattern SC-V, an X-pattern SC-X, a circular strut pattern SC-O, an I-pattern SC-I, or any combination thereof. Mechanical strength is provided by the structural configuration of the interconnected struts (108), while structural integrity is maintained through geometric stability, enabling long-term support for bone tissue integration and osseointegration. The scaffold structure (102) is fabricated from biocompatible metals or alloys and can be coated with bioactive materials to enhance bone regeneration.
