Abstract: The present invention provides a voice command dustbin (100) for touch-free waste disposal. The dustbin includes a waste-collection container (102), movable lid (104), voice-input module (106), voice-recognition or command-detection module (108), processing and control unit (110), and motorized actuation mechanism (112). Prede-fined voice commands including OPEN and CLOSE are converted into control sig-nals for moving the lid. A sensor module (114) may detect lid position, proximity or obstruction and permit movement to be prevented or modified when required. Au-tomatic closure and visual or audible feedback may also be provided. The basic voice-command functions can operate locally without continuous internet connectiv-ity.
