Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart assistive wearable system, namely Vision Mate, developed to support visually impaired individuals in navigation, environmental awareness, and access to printed information. The system comprises a camera module, processing unit, directional sensing module, Bluetooth communication module, audio output unit, and user control interface. The camera captures surrounding visual information for detecting vehicles, obstacles, and other relevant objects, while the directional sensing module determines orientation and movement direction. A text recognition module enables the device to capture and convert printed content into speech. The processed information is delivered through a bone-conduction speaker, allowing users to receive alerts while maintaining awareness of surrounding sounds. The device provides selectable modes for road assistance, object detection, and text reading. An SOS button communicates with a paired smartphone through Bluetooth to initiate an emergency notification. The system supports essential functions with minimal dependence on continuous internet connectivity, improving safety, mobility, accessibility, and independence.
