MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541076619 A) filed by International Institute Of Informationtechnology; and Indian Institute Of Technology Roorkee on August 12, 2025, for Vision-Based Advanced Driver Assistance System For Motorized Two-Wheelers With Hazard Detection And Rider Alert System.

Inventors include Dr. Amit Agarwal; Mr. Anurag Thombre; Mr. Lalit Dumka; and Mr. Ritesh Singh.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: A driver assistance system (100) for two-wheelers to enhance rider safety by detecting and alerting to hazardous traffic conditions in real-time is provided. The system includes an edge computing module (102) comprising an object detection and tracking module (104) with front (107) and rear (108) cameras and a processor (110), and an AI-enabled processing module (106) comprising lane detection (112), zone creation (114), and direction detection (116) modules. The object detection and tracking module identifies road users and static obstacles using trained models. The lane detection module recognizes lanes using deep learning. The zone creation module dynamically generates graded safety zones such as red, yellow, and green based on real-time depth and GPS speed data. The direction detection module determines the trajectory of surrounding vehicles relative to the vehicle. Based on detected threats such as unsafe headway, lane splitting, or overtaking, the processor activates context-sensitive alerts. FIG. 1
