Inventors include Ashvin B Amale; Venkata Naga Kishore Thota; Pramod Rambhau Bhagat; P. Rajasekar; Krishna Priya Murugan Sudhachellam; Parvathisha Pudugosula; and Saggurthi Bhulakshmi.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of a vision AI-driven automated quality inspection system that will be suitable for the environment of smart manufacturing. By using advanced deep learning techniques and high-resolution cameras, the system can detect surface defects, dimensional deviations, and assembly problems. The AI model has been trained on a variety of defect image dataset and therefore has strong capability for feature extraction and recognition. Experiments reveal that the accuracy of defect detection is more than 98% with 40% decrease in false positives as compared to conventional machine vision systems. In addition, easy integration in the production line leads to a 60% decrease in inspection time with minimized operating costs. FIG.1
