Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented virtual legal-aid system configured to provide multilingual legal assistance through an edge computing apparatus. The system comprises voice/text acquisition, speech recognition, language processing, legal semantic parsing, hierarchical multi-label legal issue classification, a structured versioned legal ontology and knowledge base, jurisdiction resolution, authority identification, procedural workflow retrieval, confidence validation, and multilingual output generation. The system is configured to map normalized legal queries to legal concepts, statutory provisions, remedies, competent authorities, and version-valid procedural workflows while applying subject-matter and territorial jurisdiction predicates. A confidence and safety layer validates classification, ontology mapping, jurisdiction, and workflow outputs and generates clarification or restricted guidance when confidence is insufficient. Local models, ontology data, jurisdiction rules, workflows, and authority indexes support offline execution, while a secure synchronization subsystem enables verified updates. Privacy is supported through pseudonymous case identifiers, controlled data retention, and limited location storage for secure legal-aid service delivery.
