Abstract: ABSTRACT VENTURI-BASED HYBRID WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM The present invention discloses a hybrid wastewater treatment system (100) for treatment of wastewater. The system (100) comprises a feed section (102), a hydrodynamic cavitation unit (104) comprising a Venturi reactor (106) configured to receive wastewater from the feed section (102), an electrocoagulation reactor (108) directly fluidically connected to the hydrodynamic cavitation unit (104), a separation section (110), and a treated water collection section (112). The electrocoagulation reactor (108) comprises an electrode assembly configured to generate coagulant species in situ upon application of electrical current. Wastewater passing through the Venturi reactor (106) undergoes hydrodynamic cavitation to produce cavitated wastewater, which is directly transferred to the electrocoagulation reactor (108) for formation of flocs from contaminants. The separation section (110) separates contaminants from the wastewater, and treated wastewater is collected in the treated water collection section (112). The invention further relates to a corresponding method for treatment of wastewater. (To be published along with FIG. 1)
