MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511021948 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on March 11, 2025, for Venting System For Moulded Case Circuit Breakers.

Inventors include Gupta, Mukul; Bhamare, Jidnyasa Jitendra; and Anand, Ashutosh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a venting system (300) for a moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) (100), includes one or more modular terminal nozzles (200) removably attached to one or more exhaust outlets (106) of the MCCB. The one or more modular terminal nozzles (200) is a self-contained unit with standardized interfaces, enabling independent installation, replacement, and customization without altering other MCCB components. The venting system (300) efficiently directs ionized hot gases generated during fault conditions away from critical components, reducing internal pressure buildup and enhancing operational safety. The one or more modular terminal nozzles (200) includes at least one channel (202) with a gradually reducing cross-sectional area, utilizing the Venturi effect to accelerate gas flow, minimize turbulence, and cool expelled gases resulting improves thermal stability, reduces maintenance complexity, and enhances the reliability and longevity of the MCCB under high-energy fault conditions.
