MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521015982 A) filed by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited on February 24, 2025, for Ventilation System And Methods For Battery Module Assemblies Used In Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include Kunal Patil; Har Govind Singh; and Manuel Tholath.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT VENTILATION SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR BATTERY MODULE ASSEMBLIES USED IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES A ventilation system for a battery module assembly 300 is disclosed. The battery module assembly comprises multiple battery modules 302a, 302b, 302c. The ventilation system comprises pressure sensors coupled to the battery modules to generate a pressure profile associated with a gas emitted from the battery modules. The pressure profile is generated by monitoring pressure inside the battery modules. The ventilation system further comprises a battery management system (BMS) 206 communicably coupled to the sensors 202a, 202b, 202c to calculate a rate of change of pressure associated with the battery modules. The ventilation system further comprises a valve array 208 operably coupled to the BMS and based on the pressure profile, the BMS is configured to initiate opening and closing of the valve array. Fuses 304a, 304b are configured to isolate, from the multiple battery modules 302b, 302c, a battery module 302a failing under an event of thermal runaway. [
