Abstract: A vehicle (100) includes a power unit (112) with an engine (118), a transmission unit (120), and a clutch assembly (122). A clutch operation sensor (208) senses operation of a clutch lever (111) and a motion sensor (211) installed on the vehicle (100). A controller (202) receives a first signal (302) from the clutch operation sensor (208), indicative of the clutch lever (111) operating beyond a predetermined position. The controller (202) determines a derivative of speed of the vehicle (100) from a second signal received from the motion sensor (211), accesses at least one reference time duration corresponding to the operation of the clutch lever (111), determines a time of operation of the clutch lever (111), and provides an indication for releasing the clutch lever (111) based on the first signal (302), the derivative of speed, the at least one reference time duration, and the time of operation.
