The electric motor is capable of propelling the at least one battery electric vehicle using electric energy from the external power source. The control circuit controls movement of the vehicle system along a route according to a trip plan. The trip plan comprises operational settings. The operational settings comprise a power draw setting corresponding to a power draw of the vehicle system from the external power source as a function of a location of the vehicle system on the route.
