A vehicle side door lock structure 100 includes: a latch mechanism 120 fixed to an inner panel 210 of a side door 200 10 of a vehicle; a key cylinder 140 fixed to an outer panel 220 of the side door 200; and a cylinder rod 160 extending from the key cylinder 140 to the latch mechanism 120 and configured to transmit an operation made on a key inserted into the key cylinder 140 to the latch mechanism 120, 15 wherein the vehicle side door lock structure 100 further includes a flat plate-shaped shield member 190 disposed between the key cylinder 140 and the latch mechanism 120 and having an opening through which the cylinder rod 160 extends, and the cylinder rod 160 includes a first 20 protrusion 164 formed between the shield member 190 and the latch mechanism 120 and protruding in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of the cylinder rod.
