Abstract: The present invention relates to a Vehicle Safety and Emergency Alert System with Engine Locking for improving road safety through automated monitoring and emergency response. The system comprises an alcohol detection module, accident detection module, programmable microcontroller, engine locking mechanism, GPS receiver, GSM communication module, and alert generation unit. The alcohol sensor continuously monitors the driver's breath and transmits measured data to the microcontroller for comparison with a predefined safety threshold. When alcohol exceeding the permissible limit is detected, the system automatically activates the engine locking mechanism and generates warning alerts to prevent unsafe vehicle operation. The invention further detects accident events through an impact sensing mechanism and automatically acquires the geographical location of the vehicle using a GPS module. The acquired location information is transmitted through a GSM communication module to predefined emergency contacts together with an emergency notification message, thereby reducing rescue response time. The invention integrates prevention and emergency response within a single embedded platform, providing a reliable, cost-effective, scalable, and automated vehicle safety solution suitable for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, public transportation systems, and fleet management applications.
