MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411104360 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 30, 2024, for Vehicle Radar System For Automatic Clutter Removal In Multi-Dimensional Space And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Sharat Gujamagadi; Minali Upreti; Rahul Girijal; Naveenkumar Basa Anitha; and Sujeendra Raghunandana.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a vehicle radar system (102) for enabling automatic multi-clutter removal in multi-dimensional space, and a method (400) thereof. System (102) includes controller (108) that eliminate one or more ground points from a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) multi-dimensional Point Cloud Data (PCD) space by using LiDAR ground point removal technique. Controller (108) processes one or more radar signals to project radar PCD on top of a dense LiDAR voxel grid multi-dimensional space, and classifies voxel state of object. Controller (108) dynamically predicts and identifies one or more overlying radar PCD lying on the dense LiDAR voxel grid. Controller (108) filters out the multi-clutter with the binary condition “0”, and retains the PCD with the binary condition “1” for automatically generating ground truth data for training a deep learning model to initiate automatic multi-clutter removal based on ground truth data in the vehicle radar system (102).
