MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621088165 A) filed by Mr. Swanand Kirpekar; Mr. Rahul Yadav; and Mr. Vishal Ratnakant Bhujbal on July 20, 2026, for Vehicle Mounted Smart System For Source-Level Segregation Of Municipal Solid Waste.
Inventors include Mr. Swanand Kirpekar; Mr. Rahul Yadav; and Mr. Vishal Ratnakant Bhujbal.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a vehicle-mounted smart system (100) and method for source-level segregation of municipal solid waste. The system comprises a waste input hopper (101) equipped with a QR code scanner (102) for source authentication of incoming waste, a weighing platform (103) for automatic weight measurement, and a primary storage chamber (104). A mechanical squeezer (105) separates the waste into solid waste, which is collected in a solid storage tank (106), and leachate, which is collected in a leachate tank (107). A sensor unit (108) monitors pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and temperature of the leachate. An IoT transmission module (109) and a GPS and capacity monitoring module (110) enable real-time data transmission and vehicle tracking to a central server communication module (111). The central server processes the data to predict biogas yield from leachate, forecast waste generation patterns, and improve fermentation efficiency. The invention enables efficient on-site segregation, real-time monitoring, and data-driven waste management.
