Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle-integrated biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) incubator system designed for field-scale water quality testing. The system comprises a thermally insulated incubation chamber equipped with radiant panels containing embedded metallic tubes through which a portion of refrigerant from a vehicle air-conditioning system or coolant from an engine cooling circuit is circulated to regulate the internal temperature. Precision flow control valves maintain the chamber temperature at approximately 20 ± 1°C, while a smart humidifier maintains relative humidity between 60–70% to prevent sample evaporation or condensation. A digital temperature and humidity sensor provides real-time monitoring of environmental conditions. A low-power air circulation fan ensures uniform distribution of temperature and humidity inside the chamber. The insulated enclosure maintains stable and dark incubation conditions required for accurate BOD analysis. The system enables portable, energy-efficient, and reliable incubation of water samples directly at field locations without dependence on conventional laboratory-based BOD incubators.
