Abstract: VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MANAGING THERMAL CONDITIONS IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES Abstract [000142] Disclosed is a vehicle control system for managing thermal conditions in an electric vehicle. The system includes a plurality of sensors that measure temperature of at least one critical component and generate real-time operational data including motor speed, motor torque, battery current and state of charge, a data storage device storing historical driving data and a vehicle control unit. The vehicle control unit derives a current thermal state from the measured temperature and operational data, forecasts projected heat generation based on historical driving data, predicts a future temperature using a thermal mass model, determines a derated current limit based on a difference between predicted and target temperature and controls current supplied to a motor according to the derated current limit to regulate heat generation and maintain the critical component within a predefined thermal range.
