Abstract: A vehicle control device includes a recognition part configured to recognize surrounding conditions of a host vehicle, a travel control part, and a lateral position learning part. The travel control part controls at least one of steering and speed of the host vehicle based on the recognized results by the recognition part. The lateral position learning part learns a target lateral position of the host vehicle on a roadway defined by roadway boundaries on the left and right of the host vehicle included in the recognized results in a state in which steering control of the host vehicle is not performed by the travel control part. The travel control part executes steering control after learning the target lateral position of the host vehicle using the lateral position learning part when a width of the roadway is equal to or greater than a threshold.
