Abstract: ABSTRACT VEHICLE COASTING CONTROL Approaches for controlling coasting of a vehicle are described. The approach involves obtaining and processing, by a control unit (104), various operating parameter values, including a real-time vehicle speed value, associated with a 5 vehicle. Upon ascertaining the vehicle to be in the neutral coasting state and the real-time vehicle speed value to be greater than the safe speed threshold, a warning signal is generated, by the control unit (104), to alert an operator of the vehicle about the neutral coasting state. Thus, a state of the vehicle may be actively monitored and timely warnings may be provided to the operator about the 10 potentially dangerous coasting situations.
