Abstract: The present invention relates to a vegetative media composition and process for producing bacterial cellulose (SCOBY) with enhanced efficiency and consistent yield. The media includes corn steep liquor, yeast extract, glycerol, disodium phosphate, citric acid, and polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000), which promote microbial activity and reduce fermentation time. The process involves sterilizing the media, inoculating with a Kombucha starter culture, incubating under controlled conditions, and transferring to fermentation media. The fermentation time is reduced to just 10 days, compared to the traditional 3-4 weeks, producing thicker and denser cellulose sheets. These enhanced properties make the cellulose ideal for biodegradable textiles, packaging, biomedical products, and eco-friendly materials. The invention addresses challenges like long production times, high costs, and inconsistent yields, offering a scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable solution for industrial applications.
