Abstract: ABSTRACT Pulsating Variable Intensity Photometer module for Distance Measurement The invention discloses a system for determining the distance between a light source [101] and a detector [102] using a variable intensity pulsating photometer. The light source [101] emits light at a controlled intensity or wavelength, modulating its intensity in a pulsating manner, while the detector [102] measures the instantaneous intensity of the light after it passes through or reflects off a medium. Distance = f(I1, I2, I3...In) (D1, D2, D3...Dn), wherein I1, I2, I3...In are the intensity of light pulsating in increasing or decreasing order and D1, D2, D3...Dn) are the intensity of light pulsating reaching the detector. A processing unit [103] correlates the detected light intensity with a pre-determined intensity-distance relationship curve to calculate the distance. The system finds application in many quality control equipment including hydrometer systems [104], where it measures the distance of a submerged glass rod tip to calculate the liquid's density and specific gravity. This system is adaptable for various industries, including fluid analysis, chemical processing, and quality control, enabling accurate measurement of physical properties such as density and specific gravity. The method can also be applied for real-time monitoring of fluid properties in industrial or laboratory settings.
