MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091307 A) filed by E-Actuell Labs Private Limited on July 28, 2026, for Valve Actuator With Axially Displaceable Manual Override Shaft And Continuously Meshed Encoder Arrangement.

Inventor includes Prashantha Raju.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A valve actuator for operating a valve comprises a housing and a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis, having a manual actuation member fixed to, or removably and rotationally coupled with, a first end and axially displaceable between a first axial position and a second axial position. An electric motor is mounted with its rotational axis parallel to and offset from the shaft, driving a multi-stage reduction gear train extending along the shaft to a valve output coupling at a second end. A clutch interface at a manual-override gear stage couples upstream gear stages to the manual-override gear stage in the first axial position, and decouples them in the second axial position, such that manual rotation drives the valve output coupling through the manual-override gear stage alone. An encoder arrangement comprises an encoder drive gear fixed to the shaft and an axially fixed encoder-driven gear, maintained in continuous meshed engagement across both axial positions by a tooth face width exceeding the shaft's axial travel range, such that rotation of the shaft remains mechanically detectable without interruption in both motor-driven and manual operation.
