The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT “ A SYNTHETIC THREE-DIMENSIONAL (3D) PRINTED CORNEAL SCAFFOLD FOR REGENERATIVE CORNEAL REPAIR AND A METHOD THEREOF” The present invention relates to valorization of eggshells as low-cost carbon source towards cost-effective production of rhamnolipid biosurfactant. The invention provides a process comprising collection, cleaning, drying, grinding, sodium acetate treatment, and thermal processing of eggshell waste to obtain a fermentation substrate suitable for microbial biosurfactant production. Biosurfactant-producing bacterial strains including Pseudomonas aeruginosa KP1 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa RS29 are cultivated in mineral salt medium containing processed eggshell substrate as carbon source. The produced biosurfactant is recovered through centrifugation, filtration, acid precipitation, solvent extraction, and purification. LCMS/MS analysis confirms production of rhamnolipid congeners.
