Abstract: Disclosed is a vacuum-conformable spinal positioning support bag for retaining a patient-specific posterior torso contour during clinical positioning or diagnostic imaging. The support bag comprises an air-impermeable flexible polyurethane enclosure defining a patient-contact surface and an internal volume. Internal divider seams divide the internal volume into a longitudinal central spinal chamber positioned between first and second lateral torso-support chambers. Micro-granular filling material is disposed in the chambers and is redistributable before evacuation. At least one valve port communicates with the chambers for connection to a vacuum source. The central spinal chamber conforms about a kyphotic posterior spinal contour, while the lateral torso-support chambers conform about adjacent torso regions. Evacuation compacts the micro-granular filling material within the divided chambers to retain the patient-conformed arrangement and preserve a supported contour relation between the spinal contour and adjacent torso regions.
