MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641100118 A) filed by Karpagam College Of Engineering; Karpagam Academy Of Higher Education; Dr A Rajendran; and Balamurugan G on August 19, 2026, for V2v Communication System Using Cognitive Radio And Ai For Collision Avoidance.
Inventors include Dr A Rajendran; and Balamurugan G.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: Vehicle to Vehicle communication, or simply V2V,is one of the most important safety technologies that aim to enhance safety on roads by enabling vehicles to exchange important safety-related information in real-time, overcoming sensory limitations In order to enhance the reliability of wireless communication and intelligent decision-making for avoiding collisions, the unreliability of communication and delays in detecting collisions are mitigated. The approach suggested combines Cognitive Radio (CR) technology as an intelligent tool for spectrum sensing and channel selection, together with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model for predicting collisions. The CR technology will be utilized for continuous spectrum sensing with a view to identifying available channels and selecting the best channel based on the criteria of communique reliability. The reliability of the communication will be evaluated based on the criteria of Signal-to-Noise Ratio, Bit Error Rate, and Packet Error Rate, while the AI will be utilized for predicting vehicle collisions based on parameters of kinematic vehicle motion, such as speed, distance, and acceleration. The simulation outcomes indicate that the proposed system is capable of significantly enhancing the reliability of communication by reducing BER and PER, as well as improving the efficiency of packet transmission and the efficiency of collision avoidance compared to the conventional V2V technologies.
