Abstract: ABSTRACT USER-SELECTABLE DUAL-MODE BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY (BLE) KEYFOB SYSTEM The present invention discloses a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) based vehicle keyfob system incorporating dual-mode operation with user-selectable keyless entry system having passive and active modes with rolling encryption and adaptive transmission control. The BLE based vehicle keyfob system includes a keyfob unit and a vehicle control unit. The keyfob unit includes a BLE system-on-chip (SoC) configured to facilitate communication, perform encryption, and execute control logic operations. The system includes user input buttons configured to trigger commands and perform mode switching between a Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) mode and an Active Keyless Entry (AKE) mode. A nonce generator is configured to generate nonce values and an encryption module implements a rolling nonce-based encryption for preventing replay attacks and ensuring secure communication. The system dynamically adjusts transmission power based on the command type and continuously includes battery percentage in all transmitted messages. [FIG. 1]
