Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user plane positioning connection processing method, a first network element, a second network element, and a terminal. The method comprises: sending a first identifier and a first message to a second network element, the first message being a message related to establishing a user plane connection or a message related to releasing a user plane connection, the first identifier being used to identify first information, and the first information being at least one of the following: the first network element, the user plane connection, and/or a location service session of the first network element with a terminal. In embodiments of the present disclosure, by means of sending a first identifier and a first message to a second network element, the second network element can, on the basis of the first identifier, accurately send a message to a first network element related to the terminal in the process of processing a user plane positioning connection, and may also lay a foundation for identifying, for the first network element and the terminal, an LCS session between the first network element and the terminal.
