The method comprises receiving a first signaling indicating the first apparatus (110) to generate a reference signal super sequence from a second apparatus (120), receiving, from the second apparatus (120), a second signaling comprising multiple potential masks of the reference signal super sequence and receiving, from the second apparatus (120), a third signaling indicating a mask selected from the multiple potential masks. The method further comprises generating a reference signal pattern by applying the mask selected from the multiple potential masks to the reference signal super sequence.
