The method comprises receiving first signaling indicating first apparatus (110) to generate reference signal super sequence, receiving second signal comprising multiple potential masks of reference signal super sequence and receiving third signaling indicating set of masks selected from the multiple potential masks. First mask of the set of masks is for the first apparatus (110), remaining masks are for other first apparatuses co-scheduled with the first apparatus (110) in Downlink (DL) Multi-User Multi-Input Multi-Output (MU-MIMO) environment. The method further comprises generating reference signal pattern by applying first mask to reference signal super sequence specific to first apparatus (110) and generating reference signal patterns for other first apparatuses by applying remaining masks to reference signal super sequence.
