Abstract: A use and method of a carbon fiber aggregate. The use of the carbon fiber aggregate as a heating material under microwave irradiation in a microwave field can comprise microwave heating for pyrolysis of organic materials, and preparation of syngas using carbon dioxide in the microwave field, wherein the organic materials can comprise one or more of plastics, biomass and volatile organic compounds. The carbon fiber aggregate comprises a plurality of carbon fiber basic units which are arranged in a non-oriented manner, and the carbon fiber basic units are single carbon fibers. Two ends of each carbon fiber in the length direction thereof act as carbon fiber ends, and based on the number of carbon fiber ends, the number of carbon fiber ends contained in each gram of carbon fiber aggregate is more than 1*106.
