Abstract: A device (100) for controlling urinary flow, comprising: a fluid inlet (102); a fluid outlet (104); a valve movable between an open position and a closed position; an actuator operable to move the valve between the open and closed positions; and a casing (106) positioned on a first side of the fluid inlet (102), the casing (106) comprising a first section (110) resiliently connected to a second section (112) by a first flexible neck portion (116), the first and second sections (110, 112) each having a higher rigidity than the first flexible neck portion (116); wherein the fluid outlet (104) is positioned on a second, opposite side of the fluid inlet (102). The device may be insertable into a urethra for installation in a user's bladder and urethra and arranged such that the casing is located in a bladder. The device can be inserted and extracted from a user without requiring intrusive surgery, allowing the device to be readily replaced, when needed.
