MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631099768 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Patna on August 18, 2026, for Urban Thermal Discomfort Prediction System.
Inventors include Halder, Nandini; Abhinav; Kumar, Manoj; and Deepak, Akshay.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) for urban thermal discomfort prediction and climate risk forecasting initiates an operation through a data acquisition module (110) that gathers environmental, meteorological, and urban data from multiple sources. The acquired information is stored in a memory (104) and systematically organized within a database (106) for efficient management and retrieval. One or more processors (102) coordinate complete operation by directing a processing unit (112) to refine and analyze the collected data, generating meaningful insights into urban thermal conditions and climate risks. These insights are further evaluated by an artificial intelligence (AI) unit (114) to identify patterns and predict potential thermal discomfort scenarios. A forecasting module (116) converts the predictions into reliable climate risk forecasts, while a network communication module (108) enables seamless data exchange with external systems. Finally, a visualization module (118) presents generated forecasts and analytical insights through intuitive dashboards, maps, charts, and reports for effective decision-making.
