MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647089673 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 23, 2026, for Uplink Communications In User Equipment (ue) Initiated Beam Management.

Inventors include Yuan, Fang; Nam, Wooseok; Zhou, Yan; and Park, Changhwan.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: In certain aspects, a network entity (e.g., serving cell) may configure a user equipment (UE) to transmit notifications or reports to the network entity if the UE detects an event. For example, if the UE measures a reference signal received power (RSRP) of a transmission received from the network entity or another network entity (e.g., candidate cell), and the measured RSRP satisfies a threshold condition, then the UE may notify the network entity of the event. However, the UE may be scheduled with multiple uplink transmission occasions. Thus, if the UE detects an event that continues for a period of time that spans multiple uplink transmission occasions, then the UE may transmit redundant uplink transmissions on each uplink occasion notifying the base station of the event. Thus, aspects of the disclosure are directed to limiting such uplink transmissions by the UE to reduce uplink reporting already reported events.
