Abstract: The present invention relates to a UPI payments system through a biometric PIN sequence that enables secure transaction approval without reliance on a smartphone, physical card, or visible numeric PIN. It introduces a biometric sequence-based PIN, where users perform a predefined order of finger taps on a single biometric scanning surface integrated into a merchant point-of-sale terminal. An embedded controller validates both the fingerprint identity and the tap sequence, thereby combining identity-based and knowledge-based authentication into a dual-layer security framework. Once verification is successful, the system generates a secure transaction token and transmits it to the UPI network for payment completion. A hidden duress sequence is also supported, allowing users to discreetly signal coercion while outwardly displaying a normal success response. By eliminating visible PIN entry and mobile dependency, the invention enhances accessibility, privacy, and resilience against shoulder-surfing, spoofing, and coercion attacks in digital payment environments.
