Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a Universal Micro-Brush Bracket Slot Cleaning Instrument designed for efficient cleaning of orthodontic bracket slots during bonding, archwire insertion, appliance adjustment, rebonding, and debonding procedures. Orthodontic bracket slots frequently accumulate residual adhesive, composite flash, plaque, pumice, polishing debris, food particles, and calculus, which interfere with complete seating of orthodontic archwires and compromise accurate torque expression. Existing cleaning methods employ explorers, scalers, carbide burs, ultrasonic tips, or improvised instruments that may scratch bracket slots, damage ceramic brackets, or deform self-ligating clip mechanisms. The proposed invention incorporates a precision replaceable micro-brush assembly specifically dimensioned for orthodontic bracket slots. The micro-brush comprises ultra-fine flexible bristles capable of cleaning slot surfaces without altering slot geometry. The instrument further incorporates interchangeable brush cartridges, a depth-control collar, a quick-lock attachment mechanism, and an ergonomic autoclavable handle. Different brush diameters accommodate conventional metal brackets, ceramic brackets, self-ligating brackets, and lingual brackets. Novelty resides in a dedicated orthodontic bracket-slot cleaning instrument employing interchangeable micro-brush cartridges specifically engineered for orthodontic bracket dimensions while preserving bracket accuracy and minimizing clinical damage.
