Inventors include Advay Aniruddha Khole; Samyak Mahaveer Khot; Raghav Atul Kulkarni; Keya Ashish Karandikar; and Amol Radhakisan Dhumal.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: Universal MCU (Motor Control Unit) Cooling Duct The Universal MCU (Motor Control Unit) Cooling Duct is designed to efficiently reduce the temperature of the MCU of an Electric Vehicle to avoid overheating and damaging the MCU. The model has Cooling Duct (i) which collects the air from surrounding and helps the cooler air to flow over the MCU to cool it down. The Cooling Duct (i) also helps to remove the dirt / debris from the MCU. The Universal Gripper (ii) present on the Cooling Duct (i) is what mounts the Cooling Duct (i) onto the MCU. This Universal Gripper (ii) can be mounted on any MCU with the following dimensions : Length – 7.52in to 13.27in Width – 6.15in to 11.9in Thickness - 2.17in After mounting the Universal MCU Cooling Duct, after the vehicle attains speed, the airflow will begin and start cooling the MCU. The System is designed by doing CFD and is compatible with many MCUs present in the market. The material used for construction is PLA to get the strength required and to keep the structure safe at varying temperatures of the MCU. This innovation provides a sustainable, easy to use and very effective solution for cooling of the MCU, thus preventing overheating of the MCU to increase its performance and making the EV safer by reducing the fire hazard.
