Abstract: An underrun protective device for a truck, comprising an elongated rectangular member 101 having a pair of electromagnetic clamps 102 by a pair of hydraulic actuators 103, for attaching onto a rear surface of the truck, a pair of rigid vertical elongated plate 104 attached on two ends of the member 101 for absorbing a force of a colliding vehicle, a motorized roller 105 having a plurality of airbags 201 stored in a roller 105 manner to get inflated for reducing an impact of a collision, an imaging unit 106 installed on the member 101 to determine a position and speed of a vehicle oncoming towards rear of the truck, a microphone 107 provided on the member 101 for receiving an audio command from a user and a touch-enabled display 108 provided on the member 101 for enabling the user to provide touch input commands regarding retracting the airbags.
