The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an umbrella device (100) for rainfall energy harvesting and emergency communication. The device (100) comprises an umbrella canopy (102) arranged to receive raindrops, a triboelectric nanogenerator (104) disposed on or below the umbrella canopy (102) for generating a first electrical output from impact of the raindrops, a sliding rail triboelectric nanogenerator (106) formed along patterned channels of the umbrella canopy (102) for generating a second electrical output from movement of runoff water, and piezoelectric impact pads (108) mounted at rib-tip portions for generating a third electrical output from raindrop impact- induced mechanical stress. An energy conditioning and storage unit (110-A) housed in a handle (110) of the umbrella rectifies, combines, conditions, and stores the first electrical output, the second electrical output, and the third electrical output for selective powering of a detachable wired flashlight (114) and a radio distress signalling unit (116).
