The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic gate apparatus, and a method and medium for controlling it. A gate is moved between closed and open positions by an electric actuator, such as a servo motor. An ultrasonic sensor determines the distance to an object from the time of flight of a pulse, a determination substantially unaffected by ambient light. A controller opens the gate when the determined distance is within a threshold distance, keeps the gate open while the object remains within the threshold distance, and closes the gate after the object departs beyond the threshold distance, in one embodiment after a dwell interval so a brief loss of detection does not close the gate prematurely. The gate thus opens contactlessly without any authentication device, operates reliably across lighting conditions, and does not begin to close while the object is still within the opening.
