Abstract: An ultra-wide band circularly polarized implantable antenna (1 00) for multi-service bio telemetry applications operating-from- 1.85 to-6.22-GHz is disclosed.-The _antenna __ _ comprises a circular metallic radiating patch (102) and a circular metallic ground plane (115) separated by a Rogers RT/Duroid 6010LM substrate (107) and encapsulated by an identical superstate (101), with an electrical dimension of nx(O.Oll7/..,)2 x(0.00313/..,). The radiating patch incorporates modified F-shaped slots (108), an irregular H-shaped slot (109), a nshaped slot (111) via a 45°-oriented slot (110), a dual irregular H-shaped slot (112), and a modified T-shaped slot (114) via a square stub slot (113), with shorting pins (105, 106) in the second and fourth quadrants. The ground plane incorporates inverted F- shaped slots (116, 117), an upper meandered slot (118), a folded L-shaped slot (119), a primary zigzag slot (120), and a secondary zigzag slot (121) as Defected Ground Structures. The antenna achieves a reflection coefficient bandwidth of 1.85-6.22 GHz, axial ratio bandwidth of 2.3- 6.1 GHz, and peak gains of -22.3, -21.8, -19.6, and -18.7 dBi at 2.45, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.8 GHz respectively.
