The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A dual-phase transdermal patch (100) for delivery of a hydrophilic peptide is disclosed. The patch includes a dissolving microneedle array (200) containing a peptide loading dose and a bioadhesive hydrogel reservoir (400) containing a peptide maintenance dose. The microneedle array (200) penetrates skin, creates transient microchannels (900), and dissolves after insertion to release the loading dose. The reservoir (400) remains adhered over the microchannels for 12 to 72 hours and releases the maintenance dose through a release-rate control layer (1800), porous interface layer (1000), and micro-openings (1100). An occlusive backing (500), peel- off sterile liner (600), support layer (1200), hydration-control membrane (1400), peripheral edge seal (1600), insertion confirmation indicator (800), and force- distribution rim (1300) improve hydration, leakage control, insertion reliability, and sustained diffusion. The patch provides controlled biphasic transdermal peptide delivery without persistent invasive structures. (Accompanied Figure No. 1 to 4)
