MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541085867 A) filed by P. Ravi; and R. U. Nirmal on September 10, 2025, for Twin Piston Rotary Internal Combustion Engine.
Inventors include P. Ravi; and R. U. Nirmal.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: When compared to the conventional Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines, the Rotary Internal Combustion Engine disclosed in this invention is very simple in construction and has many salient features. Unlike the Pistons in the Reciprocating Engines are round in shape, the faces of the Pistons of the Rotary Engines under discussion are square in shape. The engine disclosed in this invention has one stepped shaft integrated with twin Pistons each of their faces are square in shape which is called the Inner Rotor. The Outer Rotor is cylindrical in shape and consists Rotary Heads in lengthwise corresponding to the Piston Parts whose faces are also identical square in shape. The Rotary Heads houses Rotary Spark Plugs. The Outer Rotor houses a Rotary Suction and Exhaust Valves. One Stator is concentrically mounted with respect to them. It has Suction and Exhaust Ports, Cams for operating Suction and Exhaust Valves. Both the Rotors and the Stator are concentric with respect to each other and mounted on ball bearings. Due to the power delivered by the Engine, the Inner Rotor (along with Pistons) rotates constantly while the Outer Rotor Stops/Pauses intermittently and also rotates at faster rate by the rotary motion transmitted by Gear Arrangement having continuous and discontinuous teeth alternatively in its periphery. The varying relative distance/angle between them causes the Suction, Compression, Power & Exhaust Strokes
