Abstract: ABSTRACT TRIMETALLIC OXIDE NANOCOMPOSITE FLUORESCENT CHEMOSENSOR FOR DUAL SPECTROSCOPIC DETECTION OF PESTICIDES AND FINGERPRINTS The invention discloses a trimetallic oxide nanocomposite (MMZO), comprising magnesium oxide, molybdenum oxide and zirconium oxide, synthesised by a one-pot biogenic green hydrothermal route using an aqueous Moringa oleifera leaf extract, for the effective dual recognition of the pesticides paraquat and mancozeb. The nanocomposite exhibits a distinct colorimetric response selective for paraquat and an independent fluorometric response selective for mancozeb, enabling ratiometric dual-analyte detection with high sensitivity and selectivity, a low detection limit, and negligible interference from over thirty other pesticides. The nanocomposite, in powder form, further serves as a latent-fingerprint-developing agent on non-porous substrates, resolving ridge detail to second-level (minutiae) classification. Its simple, sustainable synthesis, strong analyte-binding affinity, rapid response and excellent recovery in real water, soil, food and serological matrices render the invention applicable to environmental monitoring, agricultural and food safety screening, and forensic and nano-toxicological investigation.
