The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: Abstract TriLoop is a compact, multi-functional, double-ended microbial inoculation instrument designed to consolidate three standard inoculation modalities - a small- diameter (2mm) bacteriological inoculation loop, a large-diameter ( 4mm) bacteriological inoculation loop, and a straight wire loopinto a single ergonomic instrument. The instrument cqmprises a central stainless steel handle with working ends on both sides. The first working end incorporates a flip-based axle mechanism that houses two nichrome bacteriological inoculation loops of differing diameters: a small loop and a large loop. The flip mechanism allows the operator to select and deploy the desired loop by rotating the axle, thereby presenting one loop while retaining the other in a safe, retracted position. The second working end features a fixed nichrome straight wire loop, providing a stable and readily accessible wire inoculation tool. The integrated design eliminates the need for multiple individual inoculation instruments, reduces contamination risk associated with instrument handling and exchange, and improves workflow efficiency. The instrument is applicable across a wide range of microbiological procedures including culture transfer, streak plating, and inoculation of solid and liquid culture media. The dual-material construction - nichrome for the working ends and stainless steel for the handle - ensures heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and durability under repeated sterilization cycles.
