Abstract: The present invention relates to a tricone drill assembly having a drilling direction and a direction of rotation thereof, the tricone drill assembly comprising at least a set of three drill cones that are able to rotate, each drill cone comprising a conical tooth mount, and a set of teeth that are arranged into a plurality of concentric cutter rings along the conical tooth mount, each cutter ring substantially encircling the conical tooth mount at a particular cone height, wherein each tooth outwardly projects from the conical tooth mount, the drill cone substantially lacks cutter grooves or intermesh areas between adjacent cutter rings and each tooth is sized and shaped to inhibit interference with teeth on an adjacent drill cone of the set of three drill cones.
